Instrument means a musical instrument, usually a stringed instrument such as a guitar or ukulele, that has been used to display disparate objects or material such as nuts and bolts, religious icons, poison labels or similar ephemer.

Fretted instruments have an inherent elegance of form. That form has a delecacy that contrasts well with inelligant elements like nuts, bolts and screws. They also pair well with disparate objects like keys or drafting implements. Stark contrasts between surface treatment and underlying form highlight the unnoticed feminine shape of these commonplace instruments. That is what I like about doctoring these instruments.
